Terms of service
The plain version of how we work together, and what you can expect from us.
Last updated August 2026
These terms apply when you commission work from Whealbit or use one of our platforms. They are written to be readable, not to bury anything.
What we provide
We design and build websites and custom software, and we operate our own SaaS platforms. The specifics of any client project are agreed in writing before we begin, including scope, price and timeline.
The free homepage draft
For new website projects we build your homepage first, live on a private link, before you pay anything. If you decide not to proceed, you owe us nothing and we take the draft down. If you proceed, the draft becomes the starting point for your build.
Pricing and payment
Websites run on a monthly plan. We agree the monthly figure in writing before we start, and it covers the design and build, hosting, your domain, email at that domain, the client portal, and updates and additions after launch. Nothing is due until your site goes live. The plan runs for an initial twelve months and then continues monthly until you cancel with one month's notice. Bespoke software is quoted as a fixed project price, with payment terms set out in your project agreement. In either case the figure does not change unless we agree a change in writing first.
Ownership
Your domain is registered in your name from the start, and it is always yours, as is your content. While the plan runs, we host and operate the site for you. You can buy the site outright at any time at a buy-out price we agree before the project begins; on payment, the code and the site are yours. Our own platforms remain ours, and your use of them is covered by each product's terms.
If you leave
Cancel after the initial term and we part on good terms: your domain and your content go with you, and we will help you point the domain wherever you like. If you want to take the site itself, the buy-out price applies. We never hold a site hostage.
Responsibilities
- You provide the content, access and approvals we need to do the work.
- You confirm you have the right to use any material you give us.
- We deliver the agreed work to a professional standard and keep you updated.
Liability
We take care to get things right, but we cannot accept liability for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid for the work in question. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of its courts.
